~ Photoshop on the iPad Animal Fusions ~

Stream 1: "Pandrill" - Panda x Mandrill

I used Photoshop on the iPad for the first time today. I found it to be very similar to Adobe Fresco in terms of UI. I guess I'll see the differences as I use and get to know the program better.
I used the Gouache Tilt and the Wet Gouache brushes for this painting. I didn't alter the brushes too much, apart from changing the opacity here and there. I decided not to experiment with too many brushes at once, however I will definitely look to try some different ones each week.
Stream 2: "Sealpaca" - Seal x Alpaca

I used a variety of brushes for this painting. I started off using the Pastel brush and then decided I couldn't get the finish I wanted. I then switched between the Brush pen and the Natural Edge brush to add details on top. I love his hair and we have named him Prince.
Stream 3: "Chickboa" - Chicken x Jerboa

I decided to try out the watercolour brushes on Photoshop for this one. I love their transparent look and the way they blend. They worked quite differently to the "live" watercolour brushes on Adobe Fresco, however I found them easier to use.
Stream 4: "Mooyote" - Moose x Coyote

I attempted to use only blue for the monochromatic weekly theme, however a lot of purple snuck in xD (is snuck a word) So I might just post a greyscale version of it.
I used the watercolour brushes again for this one and added details with the oil brush.
Stream 5: "Parakeeleon" - Parakeet x Chameleon

I really like how this one turned out. I only used the Wet Gouache brush for the painting.
Stream 6: "Marmaddax" - Marmoset x Addax - re-draw

Today we did a re-draw of our first ever Behance animal fusion.

Before (refer to image one of my Fresco animal fusions project) : I remember really disliking how this animal fusion came out as I had a hard time fitting a whole painting into only two hours xD I painted it on my very first Behance stream and it was my first time using Adobe Fresco! I didn't really use any brushes in particular as I wasn't used to any or familiar with how any of them worked, so I just sort of tried a whole bunch of them, which probably also didn't help with keeping the painting clean xD

After : I re-painted this fusion on Adobe Photoshop for the iPad. I used only the Oil Brush and I am really happy with how it turned out. I decided to make the face a bit longer to suit more of the Addax look. It's amazing how much difference almost a year of practice can make.
Stream 7: "Raccapi" - Racoon x Okapi

I used the Oil Brush again for this one.
Stream 7: "Frogxolotl" - Frog x Axolotl

I used the Watercolour Flat brush to build up the base on this one and then used the Watercolour brush to detail.
Stream 8: "Emu of Paradise" - Emu x Bird of Paradise

I used the Oil Paint brush for this painting.
Stream 9: "Snoth" - European Cat Snake x Emperor Gum Moth

I used the Wet Gouache brush for this one. Using it both for background and details. I like to think it's going "ooooh".
Stream 10: "Crested Frill-neck Penzard" - Frill-necked Lizard x Crested Penguin

I used the Pastel brush for this one. I feel like I couldn't really achieve the level of detail I wanted with the pastel brush however it does have a really nice texture.
Stream 11: "Gecko Lady Bug" - Gecko x Lady Bug

I used the Natural Edge brush for the first time. It had a very textured feel to it, almost crayon-like.
Stream 12: "Grey Pandoerie" - Panda x Grey Loerie Bird

I used the Shady Graphite Flat brush to create the base and then added detail with the Animator Pencil in Photoshop on the iPad.

I added the jade colour to liven up the image as both animals are very greyscale.
Stream 13: "Salamingo" - Salamander x Flamingo

I used the Old Brush Ink brush for this painting. I had never used it before and really enjoyed how it looked.
Stream 14: "Arctic Caiox" - Arctic Fox x Black Caiman

I struggled with the fusion for this one and ended up basically just painting a Caiman with fox ears xD Ah well, it's all about the practice. I used the Old Brush Ink brush again for this painting.
Stream 15: "Babear" - Black Bear x Ghost Bat

I used the Natural Edge brush for this one with a little bit of the Old Brush Ink in places for texture. I wanted it to give off a sort of Gothic vibe for the weekly theme, hence the pointy architecture in the background and the monochromatic palette.
Stream 16: "Hercugar" - Hercules Beetle x Cougar

I started off this piece using the Add Paper Texture brush to create the background. I then painted out the base of the creature and added detail with the Oil Brush.
Stream 17: "Frigayeaye" - Frigatebird x Aye Aye

Started off quite creepy looking and I am not sure if it still ended up creepy xD I used a mix of the Shady Graphite Flat brush and the Brush Pen to create this painting. I mostly used the Brush pen to add detail and the graphite brush to add texture.
Stream 18: "Fenarbel Foxish" - Fennec Fox x Barbel Fish

In Photoshop on the iPad, I used the Watercolour Soft and Watercolour Flat brushes to create the background and base of the painting. I then used the Watercolour brush to detail.
Stream 19: "Coral Wolf" - Coral x Arctic Wolf

I used the watercolour brushes on Photoshop for the iPad for most of the painting and then detailed using the Brush pen. Not a bad effort for two hours, I think I was overly ambitious with this one, hence why it's very unfinished but I do like how it is coming out. I think with more time it could be a very interesting painting.
Stream 20: "Goecko" - Goat x Gecko

I used the Wet Gouache and Brush pen brushes on Photoshop for the iPad to create the creature. I also used the Gouache Tilt brush for textures in the background.

I referenced a wild goat and mixed it with a "green gecko" but didn't add any green xD The red spots are reminiscent of it however.
Stream 21: "Fowl" - Discus Fish x Long Eared Owl

I used the Wet Gouache and Brush pen brushes on Photoshop for the iPad to create the creature. I also used the Gouache Tilt brush for textures in the background.

I used the Watercolour brushes in Adobe Photoshop for the iPad for this painting. I also used the Brush Pen to add details.
Stream 22: "Touvark" - Keel Billed Toucan x Aardvark

I used the Oil Brush on Photoshop for the iPad. I also used the Oil Background Mix brush for the background textures. I then darkened the painting and used the Oil Brush as an eraser to erase light back into the painting.
Stream 23: "Emperor Bumblerin" - Emperor Tamarin x Bumblebee

I used a variety of brushes for this painting. Firstly I used the 60's Background brush for the, yes you guessed it, background. Then I used the Shady Graphite to create the base of the painting. I then used a combination of the Natural Edge brush and the Brush pen to add detail.
Stream 24: "CuttleCaw" - Cuttlefish x Macaw

Using Photoshop on the iPad, I used a mix of brushes to create this painting. I used the Add Paper Texture for the background and then used the Watercolour flat brush to create a base for the creature. I then used the brush pen and the Shady Graphite Flat to detail. I then darkened the whole image and cut out highlights with the brush pen as an eraser.
Stream 25: "Toala" - Toad x Koala

I used the 60s Background brush for the background, the Oil Brush for the majority of the painting and then used the Brush Pen to add details.
Stream 26: "Alpawolf" - Alpaca x Wolf

I used the 60s Background brush to again create the background and then painted the animals using the Pastel Tilt brush. I hope to find a pack of alpaca wolves one day.
Stream 27: "Frigorpionfish" - Frigatebird x Scorpionfish

I started off painting the background using the Cloud brushes in the Concept brushes folder of the downloadable Kyle T. Webster brushes for Photoshop on the iPad. I then used the Gouache brushes for painting and detailing the creature.
Stream 28: "Dolphingo" - Bottlenose Dolphin x Flamingo

I used the Impressionist brushes today from the downloadable Kyle T. Webster brushes for Photoshop on the iPad. I used the Van Gogh Blocky for the background and the Pissarro 2 brush for the creature.
Stream 29: "Albadragon" - Albatross x Water Dragon

I used the downloadable Impressionist brushes for Photoshop on the iPad again today, mostly using the Van Gogh Blocky and the Sharp Mess brushes. I used the French Detail brush at the end to add details. I wanted to incorporate the Weekly Theme "Fantasy Landscapes" into this piece so I thought a nice typical medieval scene would work. Of course this meant that I focused more on the lizard shape than the bird shape.
Stream 30: "A Monster" - Giant Clam x Aye Aye

I decided to play around with the downloadable Kyle T. Webster Watercolour Brushes on Photoshop for the iPad. There are a lot of them, 133 to be exact. I tried out too many to name individually but I really liked the Salt brushes to add that underwater texture to the painting. I ended up detailing the piece using the French Detail brush in the Impressionist brushes since the watercolour brushes are so opaque I wanted something with a little more body.

ALSO Skull's random fact of the day: Did you know the average weight of a Giant Clam is 200kg?
Stream 31: "FangLoon" - Fangtooth x Common Loon

I used the Van Gogh Blocky From the Impressionist Brushes pack that you can download for Photoshop on the iPad for most of the  painting. I used the French Detail brush to add small details.
Stream 32: "Kevin" - Crab x Arctic Wolf

I decided to try out some of the brushes in the Dry_Media pack of downloadable brushes from Kyle T. Webster for Photoshop on the iPad. I used the Rough Rowdy brush and the Ruff Sketch brush for details.
Stream 33: Salt Water Crocodile x Purple Emperor Butterfly

I mostly used the Gouache brushes that you can download for Photoshop on the iPad. The painting overall has a very moody feel to it.
Stream 34: Galapagos Penguin x Squirrel

I used the Impressionist brushes that you can download for Photoshop on the iPad. I mostly used the Van Gogh Blocky and the French Detail for this painting.
Stream 35: Leaf Tailed Gecko x Clownfish

I played around with the Cork Bubbles brush from the Concept brushes you can download for Photoshop on the iPad. It had a very interesting texture. I used it for the base of the creature. I then used the French Detail brush from the Impressionist brushes pack to detail. By the end of it I had pretty much painted over the initial Cork Bubble strokes anyway, but it is always fun to try out new brushes.

I tried to incorporate the weekly theme "Demon Christmas" into this painting. He's a very Jolly fellow.
Stream 36: Wahlberg's Eagle x African Elephant

I used the Van Gogh Blocky brush for the base painting and then detailed using the French Fat Bristle brush for smaller details. Both are from the Impressionist brushes you can download for Photoshop on the iPad.
